The University of Memphis Tigers are ranked #18 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll, up 4-spots from last week's ranking.

On Monday (2/24) the latest Associated Press Top 25 Men's Basketball Poll showcased a notable shift as the Memphis Tigers climbed to #18 following an impressive victory over Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The Tigers’ rise reflects their strong performance this season, bolstered by a commanding win that highlighted their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity. Memphis, now in its fifth consecutive week in the rankings, moved up after dominating FAU, a team they previously beat by 28 points on the road earlier this month.

Dainja Nabs Another AAC Honorable Mention Nod

IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis redshirt senior Dain Dainja earned his third American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention nod of the season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Dainja and the Tigers had just one game this week, but they took full advantage by defeating Florida Atlantic, 84-65, Sunday afternoon to remain at the top of the conference standings.
 
The Brooklyn Park, Minnesota native pulled down his fourth double-double of the year with 22 points and 11 rebounds while adding four blocks and three steals in 27 minutes.
 
The big man was 8-of-13 shooting overall and recorded his fourth 20-point game in the last eight outings. He tied his career high in points, and his season highs in blocks and steals.

Dainja is averaging 12.8 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game on the year and also leads the team in field goal percentage (59.6%).
