St. John’s Rick Pitino has openly advocated for Memphis to join the Big East Conference in basketball
The University of Memphis was invited to join the Big East Conference as a full member in 2013, not just for a few days. That invitation was made in February of 2012. In 2025, Rick Pitino has suggested the idea happen again.
