Haggerty Earns Sixth AAC Weekly Award with Honorable Mention Nod
IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis Tiger PJ Haggerty has been named to the American Athletic Conference's Honorable Mention list, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Haggerty once again led the Tigers in a 78-74 win over East Carolina Saturday afternoon to improve to 3-0 in league play. It is his third honorable mention of the season and his sixth weekly honor overall.
The Crosby, Texas native dropped 25 points, four rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes against the Pirates, giving him 11 outings this season with 20 or more points.
The sophomore guard shot 7-of-16 overall and went a perfect 10-of-10 at the free throw line, adding to his nation-leading total.
Haggerty became only the second player in Division I this season to score at least 25 points and go perfect at the charity stripe with at least 10 attempts. And he was the first Tiger to do so since Jeremiah Martin on Feb. 23, 2019 at Wichita State (37pt, 14-14 FT).
