Memphis, Tenn. (August 27, 2024) -- The Memphis Sports Hall of Fame announced the class of 2024 honorees with an induction ceremony scheduled for October 16, 2024, at the Renasant Convention Center. The Memphis Sports Hall of Fame’s mission is to honor the area’s top athletes, coaches and contributors while inspiring and educating young athletes on Memphis’ rich sports tradition. Tickets are available for purchase here.

“The 2024 class of honorees have served as role models and inspired the Memphis sports community, and their legacies will forever  be honored as members of the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame,” said Kevin Kane, Memphis Tourism President & CEO.


The 2024 inductees include the late Reggie White, who began his professional career as a USFL star with the Memphis Showboats before becoming an NFL Defensive End, Zach Randolph, who led the Memphis Grizzlies to the franchise’s first Western Conference Finals appearance, the late Dick Fadgen, NCAA swimming coach and founder of the Memphis Tigers Swimming club and Jarvis Greer, who had a 43-year, Emmy-winning career as a sports broadcaster.

"Throughout my career in sports journalism, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing some of the greatest athletes in our city. It’s truly an honor to be recognized alongside them in the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame," said Jarvis Greer, “Having hosted the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for several years, being inducted at this year’s event will be a humbling experience for me.”

Prior inductees to the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame include: Allie Prescott III, Hubie Brown, Larry Finch, Penny Hardaway, Michael Heisley, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Tim McCarver, Nikki McCray-Penson, Cindy Parlow-Cone, Elliot Perry, Dr. Rochelle Stevens, DeAngelo Williams and more.

Attendees have the option to purchase individual tickets for $75 or reserve a table for ten people for $750. Tickets grant access to ceremony seating, food, drinks and the opportunity to meet event inductees.

The 2024 class of inductees was selected by an 18-member MSHOF Advisory Committee made up of award-winning sports journalists, professional and amateur sports industry executives, and community leaders.

About the John Stamm/JJ Guinozzo Legacy Award: In 2023, an inaugural legacy award was named after and presented  to John Stamm and JJ Guinozzo in recognition of their roles in establishing the Hall of Fame and for their longstanding contributions to sports in Memphis. This annual award celebrates individuals whose dedication and influence have left a lasting impact on the local sports community.
