Here’s a spotlight on two Memphis-area talents who’ve earned their way to the 2025 MLB All‑Star Game:
Hunter Goodman, 25, an Arlington, Tennessee native and former Memphis Tiger, is making his first All-Star appearance as a catcher for the Colorado Rockies. This season, he’s hitting approximately .280 with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs, leading all National League catchers in homers, RBIs, hits, and total bases before the break. He becomes just the second Rockies catcher ever named an All‑Star, following Elias Díaz in 2023.
Brent Rooker, a Germantown native, lands a second All-Star nod as an American League designated hitter with the Oakland A’s. He’s slashing .275 with 18 homers and 48 RBIs so far, and recently signed a 5‑year, $60 million extension.
