Jets wide receiver Jamison Crowder has tested positive for coronavirus, according to multiple reports.

Crowder's case was believed to be the only one affecting Jets players or personnel at the moment, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The veteran slot receiver's vaccination status was unclear, so his timeline for a potential return to the lineup was uncertain.

Under NFL virus protocols, if Crowder is vaccinated, he could return as soon as he's asymptomatic and can produce two negative tests in a 24-hour time frame. If not, he would be required to first isolate for 10 days before being eligible to return, pending test results.

In the latter scenario, Crowder would miss the Jets' Sept. 12 regular-season opener against the Panthers. However, if he's vaccinated, he could still conceivably make it back for the game.

Crowder's absence, should it come to pass, would presumably open up additional targets for Keelan Cole and rookie Elijah Moore, who was hobbled in the later stages of camp with a quad strain, though coach Robert Saleh indicated Moore would be ready for the opener. Offseason free-agent signee Corey Davis remains the Jets' No. 1 receiver.

The 28-year-old Crowder was limited to 12 games (7 starts) due to injury last season, finishing with 59 catches for 699 yards and 6 touchdowns in the Jets' moribund offense. He joined the Jets on a three-year contract in March 2019.
