The University of Memphis decided to play James Wiseman in late 2019 after the NCAA explained that they should not. The NCAA described to Memphis that Wiseman was "likely ineligible" having accepted $11,500 from coach Penny Hardaway to move him to Memphis from Nashville. Regardless of the payment, it's undeniable that the school's willingness to play Wiseman started a snowball effect that now includes a timeline of events that could lead to significant penalties which we're discussing here on 92.9 FM ESPN.
