WATCH: Nothing could stop Cardinals fans from storming field on this day in 1982

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Despite the beefed up security at Busch Stadium on Oct. 20, 1982, which included 150 police officers, 20 dogs and 12 horses, St. Louis Cardinals fans managed to storm the field.

It happened after the final out in Game 7 of the 1982 World Series when St. Louis beat the Milwaukee Brewers.

The call from Cardinals broadcaster Jack Buck is remembered as one of his all-time greats:

"A swing and a miss. And that's a winner. That's a winner. A World Series winner for the Cardinals. Porter throws his mask into the air, the players converge around the mound, the police arrive on the scene, the K-9 patrol and the mounted patrol. Some fans manage to get on the field, but they needn't do that and they won't be out there very long."
