Atlanta Falcons beat writer D Orlando Ledbetter joined Dukes & Bell to talk about last night’s preseason opener for our Falcons in the Hall of Fame game from Canton Ohio.
Ledbetter talked about John Cominsky’s first NFL game.
“No doubt about it.” Ledbetter said “You expected him to play well this was a home game for him, he took advantage of it and played well, now you want to see him grow from it and continue to do it against higher quality players.”
When asked about Chris Lindstrom’s night.
“He was getting after it.” Ledbetter said “It wasn’t always pretty, but he was getting people to the ground and wasn’t getting run over, I saw Harlow get run over and that’s never good.”
D said he’s not ready to move on from Matt Schaub as the backup Quarterback for Matt Ryan.
“I don’t think so.” Ledbetter said “When you want a backup QB, you want someone to be able to come in and finish the game, Benkert has never played in a real game, I don’t think he can come in and finish the game. But he looked good, and the development over a year is real progress, but am I ready to bench a veteran? No.”
