Who's to Blame for Braves' Game 1 Loss?

Acuña caused a lot of indigestion for Braves fans with his 330-foot single to right field, doing the same thing he did earlier in the season.

Patrick reflects and has an interesting take on our very young super star.

“I cover a lot of soccer, and Acuña is a Venezuelan, and he very much has a South American style of flair," said Patrick. "And I think this is something that’s just sort of engrained in their sports stars. I think this is just part of what you get with the package that is Ronald Acuña.  You’re going to get the highest of highs and you’re going to get some really, really frustrating moments, and unfortunately we’re just going to kind of have to live with it. Not to say it’s right, it’s not right, but these things are going to happen until he gets older and more experienced.”

As to who is to blame, you cannot really throw it on Snitker, because he did not know Martin would suffer a freak injury while warming up, forcing Jackson into a very difficult and stressful situation.  Joe believes many of Snit’s managerial choices for pitching were based on trying to keep Max Fried and Dallas Keuchel as fresh as possible if needed for Game 4.

The Braves have a very tough road ahead moving into Game 2 Friday and cannot afford to have a repeat performance.  The Braves have lost 10-straight Game 1’s, the most in Playoff history.  One final stat to leave you with, the Braves offense was just 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position.  That could be the most telling stat of all.
