Duane Walker does not think it is too early for Riley to be a candidate for NL Rookie of the Year. Not only has he made Braves history hitting five home runs in nine games, but his name is being tossed around with greats like Chipper Jones.
Riley not only contributes to the Braves on offense with his home runs but even in the outfield, which was not his original position.
Austin Riley is winning the hearts of many Braves fans. In Thursday’s game against the San Francisco Giants, Riley hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 4. Later in the game, Riley drove home the game-winning run in the top of the 13th inning.
