Falcons must capitalize on injury riddled division

In the matter of one weekend, the Atlanta Falcons have gone from underdogs in the NFC South to division favorites.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is expected to miss at least six weeks after suffering ligament damage to his thumb on Sunday.


Saints' QB Drew Brees is expected to undergo thumb surgery as early as today that would be expected to sideline him approximately 6 weeks, per leagues sources.

And today, it was reported that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton could miss some time after an apparent foot injury.

The Falcons won't face an NFC South opponent until November 10th, when they travel to New Orleans. So in the meantime, they need to take care of business ahead of the NFC South gantlet at the back-half of their schedule.
