“I was like everyone else and just took a deep breath and hope for the best,” Murphy said. “Ronald said he would have stayed in, there’s plenty of time to rest him. I would have hoped to see him get a chance at 40-40, but personal records have to be put on hold. But I’m concerned.”

Murph told the guys he’s concerned about Freddie Freeman’s injury.

“Baseball is weird in the way where I wouldn’t have wanted to be the Dodgers and clinch that early,” Murphy said. “I think Acuña will be fine, but I’m worried about Freddie because it popped up before and bone spurs, if you don’t go in and get them, they don’t go anywhere. It’s weird when you have a game every night and the games don’t matter. But I would like to go get a few wins before the season’s over.”

When asked if he trusts Folty in the postseason.

“Yeah, I do. I like what he’s done lately,” Murphy said. “You look at experience and he was there last year. I think he’s got momentum going for him, but there’s going to be some heart-wrenching decisions and I just hate this part of the postseason.”
