Jeff Sentell joined Dukes & Bell to talk about all things Dawgs, and how did UGA lose the top running back recruit in the country Zachary Evans?
Sentell talked about Zachary Evans not being a good fit at Georgia.
“I think this is more of the case where it just didn’t turn out to be a good fit.” Sentell said “I don’t think this was the case where he doesn’t want to play for the university of Georgia, he’s had some things that have happened off the field, and sometimes as a reporter you learn what not to write, because you’re covering young people here and young people still make a lot of mistakes. He’s a great talent but it just turns out he’s not a great fit at Georgia.”
Jeff discussed Evans issues while in high school.
“With Zachary there are two well publicized incidents for instance where he was suspended and did not play in the Texas state championship game, last time I checked Texas High School football is big enough where there are tons of metaphors and at least two or three Hollywood blockbusters that have been made about Texas High school football.” Sentell said “Not to play the number one running back in the country in the state championship game there must be ample reason for a veteran coaching staff, one of the most respected high school coaches in the state of Texas not to play him and to send him home from that game.”
