Former Atlanta Braves catcher Charlie O’Brien joined Dukes & Bell to talk about that 1995 Braves championship run, who was his favorite pitcher to catch when he was with the Braves, and what he’s doing these days.
O’Brien told the guys this is a different era than when he played.
“It’s a different type of game, they play it differently and they ask people to do different things,” O’Brien said. “I don’t know if it’s better or worse, it’s hard to say but it’s different for sure.
"I don’t think you have near as many pitchers now as you do throwers, but you know they’ve got a lot better arms now than when we played. It just depends on what kind of game you like to see I guess and play, it’s definitely different. I played in one era, now it’s in another but who knows which one is better, it’s different game for sure.”
