Running backs were front and center on Wednesday at the 2020 NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
There have been plenty of questions surrounding the Atlanta Falcons running back group. Specifically, whether Devonta Freeman will become a cap casualty.
If the Falcons were to cut Freeman this offseason, it would clear $3.5 million off the cap space. According to Sportrac, the Falcons currently have just $6.1 million available.
With signs pointing to a potential Freeman exit, should the Falcons consider drafting a running back? And if the answer is yes, what is the earliest round you'd be willing to use a draft pick on one?

Per the Falcons website, general manager Thomas Dimitroff had this to say about the team's depth at the running back position?
"I think there's really good value at the running back position," Dimitroff said. "You don't always have to yank that guy off the board in the top 16 picks. There are some great values in the draft, and just like any other draft, this year they have it too. Not saying it's not a good addition to your team to go higher on someone, but there's some really good running backs out there."
Meanwhile, the Falcons have met with a few running backs at the combine. Notably, Georgia Bulldogs RB D'Andre Swift was not one of them.
