Our Atlanta Braves are on a tear as of right now. Thus far, the Braves have gone 5-0 in the playoffs, which has given birth to their first NLCS appearance in 19 years.

Joe Patrick, 92.9 The Game Braves Insider, joined Sam & Greg to talk about the Atlanta Braves' current playoff run. Greg asked Joe to explain the Braves ascension, when five years ago, they were not a good team to say the least.

Patrick says this Braves team's meteoric rise is in large part due to the amazing job that general manager Alex Anthopoulos has done with this roster. Joe said that Anthopoulos, “kind of went a little bit counter to the mainstream idea of wanting to build up this bullpen.”

This has paid off in dividends, especially this year when starting pitching had many issues. Patrick says that locking in talent like Acuña was a smart move. He has brought in the right pieces to make this a championship caliber team.
