For the second time this season the Atlanta Braves are calling up the team's top prospect.
Infielder Vaughn Grissom had his contract selected by the Braves on Wednesday. In corresponding moves, Atlanta also reinstated Kirby Yates from the Injured List and transferred Adam Duvall to the 60-day Injured List. The Braves also place Orlando Arcia on the 10-day Injured List and optioned Huascar Ynoa to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Grissom was an 11th-round pick in the 2019 draft and was at Double-A Mississippi prior to his promotion. In 22 games with Mississippi Grissom hit .363 with three home runs and seven stolen bases. He's a career .315 hitter in 866 minor league at-bats with 24 home runs 46 stolen bases.
With Ozzie Albies still injured, the Braves could utilize Grissom's skills at second base temporarily.
The Braves announced Grissom will wear No. 18.
