Last season one of the major progressions Ronald Acuña Jr.made on his way to becoming NL MVP was the fact that he struck out a lot less than he did in years prior. Last year during the entire month of April Acuña Jr. only struck out 18 times, and this April he’s already at seven Ks through the first five games. Should Braves fans be worried about Ronnie’s strike outs? Our very own Braves Insider, Reporter, and host of From The Diamond Grant McAuley told The Morning Shift earlier today why nobody should be worried about Ronald Acuña Jr.
“It’s just one of those little quirky statistical things that we see in a small sample size…” McAuley said. Grant finished his thought by saying “I don’t foresee strikeouts all of sudden becoming a problem for Ronald Acuña Jr. with what he did, the adjustments he made, and everything he’s capable of and demonstrated in 2023 we just gotta let this thing play out, let him get hot.”
The weather was pretty chili in Chicago, and now that the Braves are back in a much warmer Atlanta, Georgia you may start to see the reigning NL MVPs bat start to heat up as well. Also, Braves fans must remember that he’s only five games into a 162-game season. Ronald Acuña Jr. is going to heat up and it’s only a matter of time.
