A lackluster series for the Braves this past weekend in Chicago saw the team lose two of three to the surging Cubs.
There was, however, a huge positive to take from the series. That positive was the six inning, eight strikeout performance from Max Fried, returning from the IL for his first start since May 5th.
Max needed only 72 pitches to get through six innings, scattering three hits and not walking a batter. The forearm tightness that kept him out for several months seems to be a thing of the past. And in order for the Braves to keep marching on to that goal of winning another World Series, this team needs Max to be the Max of old.
"Nothing is easy about winning a championship, but it would've been a heck of a whole lot harder to without Max Fried back if he didn't look like a number one starter", Steak Shapiro said about Fried's Friday outing on this morning's Steakhouse. "When you're playing the Dodgers in the NLCS, Max Fried will get the ball in game one. The odds of our city getting anther championship look so much better after watching Max Fried on Friday in Chicago."
