Braves shouldn't give Ronald Acuña Jr. new deal until new CBA is in place

Earlier today The Morning Shift discussed if they would give Atlanta Braves star right fielder and leadoff hitter Ronald Acuña Jr. a new deal or a contract extension today, and they explained why they wouldn’t and explained they think General Manager Alex Anthopoulos and the Braves would be smart to wait until the new MLB CBA is in place to give Acuña Jr. his next contract.

“I need to know what contracts are gonna look like and I don’t have to do anything with him right now because I have two more years of team control, so let me get through a negotiation to where I know he’s going to be playing for my team after said negotiation happens.” Beau Morgan said

On top of that, The Morning Shift crew also talked about Acuña Jr. still needing to prove that he can stay healthy for a full season consistently as well, so there are a few reasons why Anthopoulos and the Braves should and probably are waiting to give their star his next big deal.
