Bryce Elder has been Braves' secret weapon this season

The Atlanta Braves continue to roll, and their secret weapon has been one that many would not have expected. Starting pitcher Bryce Elder improved to 3-0 on the season with a 1.75 ERA after defeating the Miami Marlins and reigning Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara. Dukes & Bell reacted to Elder rising to one of the Braves' best pitchers.

“Has Bryce Elder been the Braves best pitcher thus far?” Carl Dukes questioned.

“Yeah, he’s not overpowering like (Spencer) Strider, and maybe he does not have the overall skill that you attribute to Max Fried. He’s using guile, change of pace, speed, and location. He’s just dialed in and giving you quality starts,” Mike Bell responded.

Elder started the season competing with Dylan Dodd and Jared Shuster for the fifth starter's job. The latter two were optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.
