Over the past three weeks the Atlanta Braves have extended Catcher Travis d'Arnaud and SP Charlie Morton but one question remains, when will they sign Freddie Freeman.

While some may look at the recent deals as money the Braves spent that could have gone elsewhere, that may not be the case.

92.9 The Game's Atlanta Braves Insider Joe Patrick talks about what the recent signings mean and how they could actually be a positive omen for Freeman sticking in Atlanta.

"This Morton deal gives me confidence that the Braves are going to get something done with Freddie Freeman. I don't think you do this deal if you feel like the funds you're devoting to that get in the way of you potentially doing a deal for Freddie Freeman," explains Patrick. "One of the reasons it's optimistic for me is it shows the team has the money to spend to make this as big a World Series as they can potentially be. The money they spent on that contract is actually a good sign that the Freddie Freeman deal is going to get wrapped up, but who knows when it's going to happen."
