An excellent week for the Atlanta Hawks ended with an exclamation point as they took down the Boston Celtics again by a final of 123-122. Dejounte Murray had a career-high 44 points and also nailed the dagger shot that put the Hawks up for good. The team is now on a four-game win streak with the Milwaukee Bucks coming to town on Saturday.
If the Hawks remain in the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference or advanced to the ninth seed there is a good chance the team could match up again with Boston in the playoffs. Carl Dukes wondered aloud if the Hawks would give Boston the same tough test and take the team to a six or even seven game series. The odds go up even higher if the team gets back the likes of Trae Young and Jalen Johnson as both continue to rehab from injury.
It remains to be seen what the Hawks will do this offseason to revamp their squad but the improved bench play and ascension of Murray may help some of those tough choices be made.
