Currently on an 11-game win streak, the Braves look like they are bouncing back at the right time. A large part of the new found success has been the play of few different players. However, with the All-Star Game just over a month away, how many of those players have done enough to get sent to LA for the honor?
Credit to the Braves organization who have done their part in campaigning for some of their players with posts of movie posters and trailers with certain members of the team they feel are worthy.
Taking a look at the roster there are the obvious selections, Ronald Acuña Jr., Dansby Swanson, and Austin Riley, who have all done enough to be All-Stars this year.
Grant McAuley and Cory McCartney spoke about this on Sunday's episode of the "From the Diamond Show" and found two other players who could make their way to Hollywood on July 19th.
McAuley said, "Max Fried and Kyle Wright could make the pitching staff." Both posting ERAs of 2.64 and 2.57 respectively have been the clearly the best pitchers on the roster and two of the best in the NL.
McCartney added, "We know the Braves' fans' ability to take over a vote." Look for many Braves player to be represented and win on the voters' choice side of the selections.
All in all the Braves have a chance to do something they haven't done in over a decade, send five players to the All-Star Game. The last time that happened was in 2011 when Brian McCan, Chipper Jones, Craig Kimbrel, Jonny Venters, and Jair Jurrjens went out to Chase Field in Phoenix to represent the club.
