Michael Harris II's career is off to a blazing start, and he may be just getting started. "Money" Mike won rookie of the year honors in 2022, edging out teammate Spencer Strider by hitting .297 with 19 home runs. In 2023 Michael got off to a slow start, largely because a wrist injury, but ended up with similar numbers from his rookie campaign. In year three, we could be in for a treat. It is assumed that Harris will hit higher in the lineup in 2024, allowing him more opportunities to drive in and score more runs, and his gold glove potential is very high.
The only problem is that the Braves lineup is so stacked, that he won't be able to move up that many spots. I believe that he should hit leadoff or second, but Ozzie Albies did a fantastic job hitting second last year, and Brian Snitker will probably leave him there, at least against lefties. Wherever "Money" Mike hits in the lineup this year, it's assured that his 2024 will be a delight to watch. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael spoke with Braves insider Grant McAuley about possible breakouts, and the health of a few pitchers that we haven't heard from in a while.
