Audacy.com MLB insider Tony Gwynn Jr. joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance on the show and talked about why the Braves shouldn’t panic about the Mets having a big lead in the division, yet.
When asked if there was extra pressure on the Braves in series with Brewers due to being six and a half games behind Mets in East.

“It’s not ideal to be down eight, nine games this early, however I do caution again it is early,” Gwynn Jr. said. “That eight game lead could be dwindled down to five to three within a month, so I wouldn’t press too much with it being a big series. Ultimately what the Braves want to do is they want to start playing better, right? They wanna have a cohesive offense where they’re passing the baton and different guys are kind of stepping up as we saw last year when they go hot.”
Gwynn Jr. talked about the Braves just need to get back to late season 2021 form.
“I think ultimately that’s the focus for the Braves, is to get back to playing the type of World Series baseball, championship baseball that they know they can play. If they do that the series moving forward, whether it’s the Brewers or anybody else will take care of itself.”
