Philadelphia fanbase is "despicable," says Steak Shapiro

The Braves open the season with the Phillies next, ironically the last team they saw when they last played. Brian Snitker had some scathing comments about their fans and we continued to react to that commentary.

On the eve of the 2024 season, Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker joined The Steakhouse to give us a sneak peek into the clubhouse. While he was on with show, he was pretty blunt about his thoughts on the Philadelphia fanbase and the way they treat the families of players.

On a Friday edition of The Steakhouse, we continued to react to the firestorm that it brought on social media after this tweet from Steak:

"I have been saying this forever," Steak said. "There's only one fanbase -- and I have countless examples in parking lots, walking up to the stadium, [and] being in seats -- where the fans have no regard for your children, for women, for anything."

He understands that there's a certain degree of smack talk that goes down when you're a visiting fan in a foreign environment. Some call it passion, but Steak believes that the city of Philadelphia continues to take it too far.

"I'm talking about low-life behavior," he said. "This is the sort of stuff that Philly fans are proud of, and it's despicable."
