After missing three straight games due to knee soreness, Ronald Acuña Jr. returned to the Braves lineup on Wednesday evening in the DH role and clubbed a big home run
Despite the display of power at the plate, Acuña discussed his knee issues after the game and the situation may be more problematic than many Braves fans would have hoped for after four days off.
Earlier in the week Braves manager Brian Snitker explained that Acuña would be out there playing if it were the postseason. John Fricke and Hugh Douglas shared some concern about the knee being a little bit worse than they had thought and how the Braves may handle things moving forward.
"It has to be structurally sound or the Braves wouldn't let him play. Maybe he doesn't get past the knee pain the rest of the year, and he might just be the DH for the rest of the season." says Fricke. "We've seen him this year not be the same defensive player because he doesn't trust his knee, so I have no problem with him being the DH the rest of the year."
The Braves wrap up a series with the Rockies on Thursday night before welcoming in the Miami Marlins for a weekend series starting Friday.
