Atlanta Braves fans will be in a state of uneasiness and discomfort until they get more news on the meniscus of their beloved reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. The Braves young superstar irritated his meniscus after tweaking his knee during a rundown in the Braves’ Spring Training game against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
The Braves updated Acuna's injury status Saturday after he was scratched from the lineup on Friday because of right knee soreness. Acuna underwent an MRI that revealed the irritation, according to the team. He will meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday for additional evaluation, so how concerned should Braves fans be? The Morning Shift gave their take on it earlier today.
Mike Johnson and Robb Tribble say their concern level is at a two, but Beau feels differently and describes his feeling about the situation as “scary”.
As of right now before the results of the additional evaluation Acuña Jr. is set to be ready for Opening Day, but if he has to miss any time i’m sure any Braves fan would rather have the reigning NL MVP miss the first part of the season and be healthy the second half of the season and going into the postseason because at this point it’s World Series or bust for the Braves and they need their MVP healthy in the postseason more than anything.
