If there is a conversation as to which MLB pitcher this season is already earning the right to be labeled the “most dominant”in the National League, it is without a doubt Atlanta Braves starter, Spencer Strider.
“I don’t think it’s that crazy of a question honestly,” Kris Willis of Battery Power responded to 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery when asked to share his thoughts on Strider's performance this season.
At 4-0, Strider currently leads the majors in total strikeouts with 57 and averages 14.6 strikeouts per nine innings, which also leads the way in MLB.
“I mean he went out there against the Mets and didn’t have his good stuff and then you look at him still gutted his way through 5 innings and had eight strikeouts,” Willis added, referring to Strider’s last outing on Monday. As their conversation continued, Chuckery also pointed to the fact that Strider has “not given up many home run balls.” in addition to leading the league at one point in fewest hits per nine innings.
“Yeah, and I mean that he’s done that two basically being just a two-pitch pitcher,” Willis responded to Chuckery.
