While the Atlanta Braves are off to another good start to the season at 14-6 and leading the National League East by one game above the Philadelphia Phillies, they have had their fair share of injury related woes including the loss of Spencer Strider (UCL) for the season, Sean Murphy (oblique) who has been out since the second game of the season and Ozzie Albies (toe), who was placed on the 10-day injured reserve list last week. Yet, despite the personnel setbacks, the Braves have yet to lose a series this season and that included taking two out three from the defending champs, the Texas Rangers.

“The Braves didn’t feel any pressure,” Steak Shapiro said on Monday as he and Sandra Golden discussed the performance of the Braves over the weekend, highlighting several players who have stepped into help keep the Braves on track, including catcher, Travis d’Arnaud. “Travis d’Arnaud on Friday night, that was insane,” Shapiro said as he Golden reacted to the catcher’s three homerun night that included a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning in Friday’s 8-3 win over the Rangers. On Saturday, d’Arnaud would add his fourth homerun of the season on the next night as the Braves defeated the Rangers 5-2 for their sixth straight win.

As their conversation continued, Shapiro noted that heading into Sunday night’s game against Texas, the Braves had posted a 10-1 record this season against all four teams that played in last season’s championship series, “and that’s dealing with significant injury, significant drama early on,” Shapiro said with Golden noting that the Braves have been able to find ways to get wins despite missing “three all-stars,”.
