Could this be the greatest Braves team ever? It’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility. The club enters their series with the second place Miami Marlins on Friday with the best record in the National League at 53-27. The 1998 club holds the franchise records for wins at 106.
“You take stock, look at where we are and where we need to go. There’s not a lot this team needs other than maybe a starting pitcher,” Mike Bell explained.
“I just want to put this in perspective for Braves fans. This is the best 80 game start for the Braves in franchise history. The second most home runs in franchise history to start the season. They went 20-4 in June”, Carl Dukes added.
Matt Olson is also on pace to hit more than 50 home runs and Spencer Strider could set a record for strikeout percentage to boot.
