The MLB playoffs now run through Atlanta after the team’s sweep of the Cubs which ended with a 5-3 victory on Thursday. The Braves picked up win 103 and own the tiebreaker over the AL-leading Baltimore Orioles. Atlanta was able to send old friend Dansby Swanson and the Cubs packing as they are now looking up at the final Wild Card spot in the National League and their playoff hopes hang by a thread with just a few games remaining.
The Braves have been the best team in MLB wire-to-wire. It’s a rare feat to be able to hold the best record in the sport and be the dominant team for large stretches of a 162-game season. The key now will be keeping up the energy and intensity waiting their opponent in the NLDS. Arizona and Philadelphia provide different challenges and neither will be an easy out.
Based on what happened in last year’s playoffs, one would assume seeing the Diamondbacks come to Truist would be the preferred opponent.
Dukes & Bell recognize what a special season this has been for the Braves
“Here’s what I know: everything goes through us. We are it.
I don’t care about the Dodgers, the Cubs, the Phillies, it all has to come through the ATL. Now that we have clinched home field throughout the World Series, this is where we want to be. But here’s the thing, no excuses!” Carl Dukes exclaimed.
The regular season wraps up with a series against the lowly Nationals. The pressure is now fully off and the team can enjoy the rest of the races from afar while trying to keep themselves sharp. A tip of the cap and a hearty cheer to a historic 2023 regular season for the Braves!
