Over the past offseason, Major League Baseball and the MLB Player's Association agreed that the designated hitter will be implemented in the National League in 2022.

Every team in both leagues can now opt to use a DH in their lineup in lieu of the pitcher, including the Atlanta Braves.
92.9 The Game Braves' reporter Joe Patrick joined the Midday Show to discuss who he believes will spend the most time as their DH this season.
"I think it will be Marcell Ozuna probably spending the most time in the DH but it'll be really close between him and Ronald (Acuna)," Joe told Andy and Randy.
"I think with Acuna, it all depends on how quickly his team is comfortable and he's comfortable just progressing back into the outfield. I think that the team has definite incentives to get him out of the DH role because he's just a very good defensive outfielder. He's got a huge arm out there in right field...At the same time, the Braves will obviously tell you that they want to be careful with him and make sure that they're not going to risk anything."
"Once he is transitioned out of the DH role, I think we'll see Marcell Ozuna there pretty much everyday."
