Tuesday's trade deadline saw a ton of moves and some notable names get shipped to new places. Most notable was left fielder, Juan Soto, who was traded to the San Diego Padres after contract negotiations broke down between Soto and the Washington Nationals.
The Braves on the other hand were relatively quite on Tuesday. They bolstered their bullpen by trading for reliever Raisel Iglesias from the Los Angeles Angels, but no splash moves.
So just how much did these trades shake up the hierarchy in the National League?
Today on the Midday Show with Andy and Randy, hosts Jon Chuckery (in for Andy Bunker) and Randy McMichael were asked, "Who is the Braves' biggest challenger in the NL today?"
Even after all the moves made by the Padres, Mets, Phillies, and others, according to them, the answer is still the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Chuckery also pointed out that one of the biggest reasons for the Dodgers success has been the outstanding play of, ironically, former Atlanta Brave, Freddie Freeman. He stated, "He's (Freddie Freeman) moved himself into a top-3 MVP conversation."
You can hear Andy & Randy every Monday-Friday from 11a-2p.
