Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael brought back a part of the interview they did with RADIO.COM insider and NFL writer for The Athletic, Michael Lombardi, who spoke about how good of a hire Arthur Smith was for the Atlanta Falcons.
“It’s the same thing you kind of hear about Dean Pees as well as a defensive coordinator. They (Arthur Smith and Dean Pees) get the most out of their talent, maybe even more out of their talent than other guys would get…obviously that’s what you want to say about your Coach,” said Andy in reaction to Lombardi’s comments on Arthur Smith.
“He (Arthur Smith) is an innovative mind with an old school approach…He believes in the physicality of what wins football games up front, punishing people. But he also knows that if you don’t have that style yet, play to your players’ strengths,” Randy added.
