On Friday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by Radio.com insider and NFL writer for The Athletic, Michael Lombardi, who talked about the Atlanta Falcons hiring of Arthur Smith as their new head coach.

“Look I don’t know Arthur Smith at all. The one thing I like about pro football is you can watch tape and learn about a guy and I thought his tape was sensational. I mean look Matt LaFleur was not even close to being as good of an offensive coach as Arthur Smith was when they were both in Tennessee, when the both had the same kind of team. What he was able to do with Ryan Tannehill and frankly what he did with Derrick Henry, I mean Henry’s had two of his best seasons of his career with him,” Lombardi said when asked about Arthur Smith.

“I think Arthur impressed me his ability to be creative yet simple. It’s a little Joe Gibbs-ish from the Washington Football team, you know the ability to be simple yet complicated. I think that’s what Arthur did. I think Arthur was the one coach who probably had multiple offers this offseason to become a head coach,” Lombardi continued.
