While meeting with the media on Monday after returning home from a loss in London on Sunday, Arthur Smith addressed the media and was asked about Desmond Ridder's role as starting QB for the Atlanta Falcons, and he confirmed that he would remain the starter for the Falcons Week 5 game against the Houston Texans.
If the Falcons are going to stick with Desmond Ridder, which shouldn't surprise anyone after they stuck with Marcus Mariota last season through Week 14, now the questions is how can you get a level of QB play that doesn't negatively affect the Falcons chances of winning so directly.
All in all, it's a pretty expected 2-2 start for the Falcons, but what seemed like an easy schedule feels tougher now with how quickly C.J. Stroud has developed for the Houston Texans.
