Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson joined Dukes & Bell Monday after practice at Flowery Branch. He discussed a variety of issues including his projected expanded role in the offense in 2024. Robinson was asked if he studied the tape of 49ers All-Pro back Christian McCaffrey after a comparison was made between the two in terms of usage and workload this offseason.
Robinson responded by saying not only did he watch, but he studied every play from McCaffrey's electric 2023 campaign. McCaffrey ran for nearly 1,500 yards and scored 14 touchdowns while also tallying 67 receptions out of the backfield.
Robinson will share the backfield this season with third-year pro Tyler Allgeire along with the potential for youngsters Carlos Washington and Jace McCllelan to join the fray as well. It may be difficult to replicate McCaffrey's stats based on usage along, but he is poised for a breakout campaign.
