Atlanta Falcons head Coach Arthur Smith joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance on the show and talked about what the Falcons are facing on Sunday when a banged up Los Angeles Chargers team comes to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

When asked about the Chargers being shorthanded.

“It’s a very talented football team starting with their offense," Smith said. "Justin Herbert very effective quarterback, really can make every throw, he’s got quick decision-making ability that’s why he’s not taking a lot of sacks. They do give up some pressures, but he’s getting that ball out.

“Austin Ekeler is a problem, that’s kind of his safety blanket. They use him out of the backfield, whether it’s a free release as a scat or they hand him the ball in the run game or designed screens he can be a problem. So the way that they operate on offense we gotta be ready to roll.”

Smith talked about the challenges the LA defense can pose.

“Defensively they give you multiple looks, multiple fronts, with Mack we got to account for him every play," Smith said. "Derwin James is a really good football player in every level of that defense. They play him all over the place. It’s the NFL so we’re excited about the challenge, glad to get them at home. Like we said earlier, we wanna continue to win at home and this is a big game for us.”
