Atlanta Falcons radio analyst Dave Archer joined Dukes & Bell and talked about the teams running back situation and could the Falcons running back room be the hidden gem of the team?

When asked about the running back depth on the team.

“I think it’s a hidden gem on the team, I’m glad you mentioned it, we have not seen obviously Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson, they’ll be the bell cows, they’ll be the workhorses come regular season time, certainly early,” Archer said. “Caleb Huntley, who ripped off the thirty yard touchdown run, he’s had a really good camp, he had an outstanding career at Ball State, he’s an outstanding player just a young guy that has continued to grow and be pretty good. Javinn Hawkins is that one guy that’s got a different gear, we saw a little bit of that where he jumped through a tackle and ripped off a thirty yard run of his own. Those two guys combined for 103 yards on 11 carries the other night in that game.”

“We saw D’Onta Foreman come in and play well, it was good to see Qadree Ollison get an opportunity to play once he got a few carries you could see him get his patience back. It is a good room when you thought there wasn’t a lot of depth there all of a sudden there’s some pretty good competition there, they’re gonna have a tough decision to make when it comes to cutting to fifty-three.”
