How can Falcons take advantage of the 49ers pick at No. 3?

There was a bevy of draft-pick trading on Friday as the Miami Dolphins traded twice, once with the 49ers and once with the Eagles.

As a result of all the movement, the 49ers now hold the 3rd pick in the NFL draft, the Dolphins sit at sixth overall, and the Eagles are down the 12.

While the Falcons draft spot of fourth overall hasn't changed, their ability to take advantage of that slot has.

There seems to be a pretty strong consensus that the Jaguars are going to draft Trevor Lawrence with the first-overall pick and the Jets will select BYU QB Zach Wilson at No. 2.

While certainly the Jets could go elsewhere with their choice, not many are predicting something different.

However when you look at the analysis and predictions for the third-overall pick currently held by the 49ers, opinions certainly vary.

Many, including morning show host John Fricke, are assuming that San Francisco will draft Justin Fields. There are some who have a different QB going to the 49ers, Alabama stud Mac Jones.

Simms isn't alone either, there are other experts who agree with him.

It would seem that is the best-case scenario for the Falcons. If Mac Jones goes third overall and Justin Field is still on the board at 4, the Falcons could either select their own QB of the future or start a massive bidding war between quarterback-needy teams like the Patriots or Broncos and really raise the price of the pick at 4.

It will be interesting to see how San Fran plays things at 3 if predictions hold ahead of them. And the Falcons may not have a definitive decision at No. 4 until after the third pick is announced.
