While the biggest concern for the Atlanta Falcons currently is starting quarterback, Michael Penix Jr. being placed on the injured reserve list with a knee injury sustained in Sunday’s 30-27 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers, not having “the ability to finish” in close games is an issue Atlanta Falcons Radio Network analyst and former Falcons quarterback, Dave Archer expressed frustration with.

“There’s a lot of football left to play and there’s a lot of things you’re going to figure out about this team and one of the things you have to figure out is that they’re going to play hard every week,” Archer said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and explained why the Falcons had opportunities to win multiple games this season, however they were “one play away from being 3-0” due to their efforts.

“I know that’s hard to swallow, I know that’s hard to think about, but you’re in position to win the game, so finish the game,” Arhcer said as he shared multiple examples of the Falcons being in position to win in their past three games, which they lost each by one score. “That’s where we’re at. This team is in position, coaches are putting them in position, players are putting themselves in position to win the games and they’re coming up just short,” Archer said of the Falcons recent losses.
