Desmond Ridder will have too many options to have a favorite red-zone target

The Morning Shift discusses why the Falcons might not have a go to red zone target this season

It’s safe to say that Atlanta Falcons fans will want to see Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson scoring all of the touchdowns, and of course they will have their share.

However, when Desmond Ridder and the Falcons get in the red zone don’t expect the Falcons quarterback to look anywhere in particular because everywhere he looks he will have a big-body receiver to target. Earlier Wednesday The Morning Shift explained why the touchdown numbers could be very spread out for the Falcons this season.

“You’re gonna have a healthy Kyle Pitts, you got Jonnu [Smith], you got Cordarrelle [Patterson], you got Tyler Allgeier, and you’ve got Bijan Robinson, and a big red-zone threat in Mack Hollins because of his size, so who’s gonna get the ball in the red zone is gonna be basically based off what look the defense gives you and I think that it could be spread around because of that,” Beau Morgan said.

Pitts is 6-foot-6, London is 6-foot-4, Hollins is 6-foot-4, Jonnu Smith is 6-foot-3, MyCole Pruitt is 6-foot-2, and Patterson is 6-foot-2. So Ridder will have plenty of big-body targets when they get in the red zone. Someone will have a mismatch, and at that point. It’s just up to the offense to exploit it.
