The Atlanta Falcons committed robbery on live television with their 22-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. The win is the first of the Raheem Morris era and was a statement for the resilience of this team.
The Steakhouse dug into just how important the shocking drop from Saquon Barkley and the subsequent drive could end up being for the Atlanta Falcons this season.
"That game was over," Steak said about the Eagles' drive to snuff out the Falcons. "Everything on this radio station, everything leading up to Sunday, everything you could argue for the entire season -- if [Saquon] catches the ball -- is different. This is a catch that if you in the back yard with your five-year-old and you threw the exact same pass, he has a chance of catching it 10-out-of-10 times."
That play might broke in Atlanta's favor, but the Falcons took advantage of the mistake and delivered a work of masterclass on the following drive.
Down six points with only 99 seconds on the clock, Kirk walked the Falcons 77 yards down the field and connected with Drake London for what became the go-ahead score. The Falcons' quarterback finished the night 20-of-29 for 241 yards and two touchdowns -- but he was 15-23 for 164 and a touchdown before that final drive.
If this six play march doesn't happen, the outlook for the Falcons is completely flipped.
"The conversation today would be about [how] Kirk Cousins wasn't sharp, we couldn't stop the run, we played a better game and ran it but Drake London can't make a play and Kyle Pitts can't make a play," Steak said. "[Kirk] needed the moment where he wasn't thinking about anything but balling out. Think about the confidence now!"
The difference between 1-1 and 0-2 is massive.
Questions would have been swirling if the Atlanta had dropped its second straight winnable game. Instead, the Falcons have found some momentum ahead of another primetime matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
