On Thursday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talked about the Falcons signing of former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Eddie Goldman to one year deal.
The Falcons now have a running mate alongside their longtime defensive lineman Grady Jarrett in the middle of their defense. The 28-year-old 6-foot-3, 325 pound Goldman started 73 of 81 games in six seasons with the Bears. He was a second-round pick from Florida State in 2015 and should compete to start at nose tackle in the Falcons’ base 3-4 defense.
“(Goldman is) Probably the best interior defensive lineman they’ve had next to Grady since Dontari Poe,” said Andy.
“This guys is a big body guy, not going to give you a lot in the pass rush. More of a 2 down, gap type guy” said Randy.
“Marlon Davidson is on the clock. He is on the clock-clock. He has got to stay healthy and produce this year…because he is not their (new GM and Coach) guy,” added Randy.
You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 10a-2p.
