The Atlanta Falcons got the quarterback on the ground for sacks three times on Sunday vs the Cowboys. Those three sacks improved their total from six to nine on the season and represents by far the best effort by the defense on the season. Grady Jarrett, Kaden Elliss and perhaps most importantly Arnold Ebiketie all got the QB on the ground.
The team will not be mistaken for the Sack Exchange or Steel Curtain anytime soon but Sunday marked a signal for hope and change that simply was not there the first eight weeks of the season. The team is still last in the league in sacks but now there is a formula that the team can hope to replicate in the coming weeks.
The team has until Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline to decide if they are going to make a move for another edge rusher. There are no marquee names available but several players with lesser name value could be available for the team to make a move at a relatively low cost.
