As the Atlanta Falcons get set for their final preseason game on Friday, news out of Flowery Branch on Wednesday may have taken some wind out of the sail as it was reported by multiple sources starting offensive tackle, Kaleb McGary suffered an apparent leg injury and was carted off the practice field.
And while no official word on McGary’s injury has been issued by the Falcons, a team spokesperson stated he would undergo an MRI and an update would be given at the “appropriate time”. And unfortunately for the Falcons, whenever the time comes, it will be coupled with reports of backup offensive lineman, Storm Norton having surgery which will have him sidelined six to eight weeks.
“Not the news you want to hear,” 92-9 The Game Carl Dukes said as he and cohost Mike Bell reacted to the news of McGary and Norton. “This is bad,” Bell said as he shared his concerns in regards to whether or not the Falcons have reliable backups to fil the void presumably left by the two offensive linemen.
“With all do due respect to Coach Ra and his confidence about the second team, you saw it with your own eyes how bad our second team offensive line was against the Titans on Friday night. This is bad, real bad,” Bell continued with his evaluation of Atlanta’s backup offensive linemen. “Now you have to go find somebody,” Bell added.
