The Falcons second game of the 2021 preseason takes place in Miami on Saturday against the Dolphins.
The team has already been down there for a few days as they participated in joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday before having a day off today.
One of the biggest questions heading into the second of three preseason games is will the starters play, and if so, how much.
Before the league dropped to just 3 preseason games, almost every team used the same formula in terms of how starters were used in the preseason.
This being the first year without a fourth game each team is figuring things out and coming to different conclusions on how to approach getting their starters some reps.
For the Falcons, the majority of starters did not play against the Titans, and there hasn't been much information released about who will play on Saturday and how many plays they could get.
Atlanta Falcons Digital Reporter Scott Bair discusses how teams are using preseason games and what the plan might be from Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot to get the starters some live-game action.
"There was a reason why Arthur Smith didn't talk yesterday, probably because he would have gotten a thousand questions on if Matt Ryan is going to play. I think we are going to see the starters play," says Bair. "He's made it pretty clear he'd like to see Mike Davis suit up and get going. The reason why I have an inkling it's going to be tomorrow night is I think the Dolphins are going to play some of their starters and starts versus starters is definitely the way to go."
While it's not 100% confirmed, it seems more likely that the Dolphins play their starters this week than the Browns next week as Cleveland is already dealing with multiple injuries to their starters.
